This one contains the day tour of some of the animals I got a chance to see.

httpvh://youtu.be/f261zy0fAn0

Now the really amazing thing about the Singapore Zoo as compared to the only other zoo I’ve been to which is the San Diego Zoo, is the concept of “open concept cages” where there is no cage or bars or fence the animals are behind, there is just a mote in which they cannot cross. I love this concept and felt it added so much more to the experience because it didn’t feel like well… I was at a zoo.

Random monkeys on the trail signs XD

Another part I really enjoyed as apart to the San Diego Zoo was how lush everything was, all the areas felt like the actual jungle. (Well mind you, I WAS in a tropical rain forest of a sort lol, and San Diego is technically a desert)

Now lets talk animals! My favorite animal was defiantly the White Tiger. I’ve never seen a tiger before and I was NOT disappointed. Theses creatures where enormous! What magnificent creatures!

After the White Tiger pen, I moved on to the Australia Outback! Here I got to see some Kangaroo and Emu.

Now I am planning on actually going to Australia so I’m sure I’ll see some less lazy ones there.

After I headed to Primate Kingdom!! Singapore Zoo is known to have one of the largest and most diverse range of monkey and primate species. Obviously, these aren’t photos of all the different types, because …that would be alot of monkeys! The zoo also contains the world’s first free range Orangutan exhibit, however, I don’t think I got a picture of them!! DOH!

After Primate Kingdom I head to Elephants of Asia! Here, the main attraction was the Asia Elephants! These where quite different compared to their African relatives, much smaller and darker in color. Now at the zoo there was an option to go on Elephant Rides, however, I choose to pass on that since I didn’t feel right treating the elephants as an amusement park ride.

After Asia Land, I ventured to Wild Africa! Here I got to see all the big animals, including, Giraffe, Zebra, Lions and Rhinos!

After Wild Africa, a huge Thunderstorm rolled in and….I guess you have to wait until my next blog post to find out what happend then!!

(To Be Continued..)

-Nadine

Lions & Tiger & Baboons?
