Having spent <a title=\"My 60 Days in Tobago Round-Up\" href=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/60-days-tobago-round\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">60 days <\/a>exploring everything there is to see and do here I thought I would put together a list of\u00a0my top picks. So here they are listed in no particular order.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p2\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">1. Visit Pigeon Point Heritage Park.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The VERY famous Pigeon Point Heritage Park is one of the most recognizable places to visit here in Tobago.\u00a0 I am sure you can see why, with its pristine beaches (some of the best in Tobago) and the famous thatched roof jetty.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Pigeon-Point-Tobago-.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-30268\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Pigeon-Point-Tobago--600x390.jpg\" alt=\"Pigeon Point | Tobago\" width=\"600\" height=\"390\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-30266\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Pigeon-Point-Tobago-2-600x351.jpg\" alt=\"Pigeon Point | Tobago\" width=\"600\" height=\"351\" \/><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\" style=\"color: #3366ff;\">2. No Man\u2019s Land.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">No Man\u2019s Land, a split of white coral-sand stretching out in front of the <strong>Bon Accord Lagoon<\/strong>. The name is as you\u2019ve guess, owned\u00a0by no man.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/No-Mans-Land-Tobago-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-30271\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/No-Mans-Land-Tobago-3-600x358.jpg\" alt=\"No Man's Land, Tobago\" width=\"600\" height=\"358\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">It is a beautiful little slice of paradise many people like to visit on an afternoon to enjoy a swim or make a BBQ and watch Pigeon Point over in the distance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-30273\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/No-Mans-Land-Tobago-400x600.jpg\" alt=\"No Man's Land, Tobago\" width=\"400\" height=\"600\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Now there are a couple ways to get out to No Man\u2019s Land; there is the most common way by boat, which many tour operators will take you out to, and then there is by vehicle.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-30272\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/No-Mans-Land-Tobago-4-600x600.jpg\" alt=\"No Man's Land, Tobago\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p2\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">3. Go for a Horse ride in the ocean.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.healing-with-horses.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Healing with Horses\u00a0<\/a> is a non-profit organization that does therapeutic-riding, leadership-training, riding lessons and more, for differently abled children.<\/p>\n<p>And their second company, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.being-with-horses.com\">Being with Horse<\/a> offers trail rides and swims in the ocean!<\/p>\n<p>Firstly you learn a bit about each of the horses, and then you are selected by a horse to ride. Do a catamaran snorkel tour.\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Welcome aboard the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sailtobago.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Island Girl<\/a>, a\u00a0lovely sailing catamaran that cruises up the Caribbean coast of Tobago. Boarding at Mt. Irvine Bay and stopping along the way at <strong>Cotton Bay<\/strong>, \u00a0then towards <strong>Castara.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-30282\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Island-Girl-Tobago-600x424.jpg\" alt=\"Island Girl, Tobago\" width=\"600\" height=\"424\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Island-Girl-Tobago-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-30281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Island-Girl-Tobago-3-600x381.jpg\" alt=\"Island Girl, Tobago\" width=\"600\" height=\"381\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Only accessible by boat or trail, Cotton Bay is like being in your own slice of paradise. Here you anchor up for some snorkelling in the bay, amidst the rocks. Followed by a\u00a0BBQ buffet lunch on the boat, which was definitely needed after all that snorkelling. Then\u00a0it&#8217;s deck time with beers and chilling on the catamaran canopy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Snorkeling-Tobago.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-30283\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Snorkeling-Tobago-600x373.jpg\" alt=\"Snorkeling, Tobago\" width=\"600\" height=\"373\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-30280\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Island-Girl-Tobago-2-600x418.jpg\" alt=\"Island Girl, Tobago\" width=\"600\" height=\"418\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text_exposed_show\">\n<h4><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">5. Go hiking in the Main Ridge Forest Reserve.<\/span><\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<p>Right smack in the middle of Tobago is the\u00a0<strong>Tobago Main Ridge Forest Reserve<\/strong>, which is the oldest legally protected forest reserve in the western hemisphere geared specifically towards a conservation purpose.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-30290\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Tobago-Main-Ridge-Forest-Reserve--600x367.jpg\" alt=\"Tobago Main Ridge Forest Reserve\" width=\"600\" height=\"367\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Tobago-Main-Ridge-Forest-Reserve-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-30289\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Tobago-Main-Ridge-Forest-Reserve-2-600x378.jpg\" alt=\"Tobago Main Ridge Forest Reserve\" width=\"600\" height=\"378\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Goodbye to the tropical fruits as there is no farming or crops allowed to be planted here. Also, goodbye to the warm temperatures, as you can most definitely notice a climate change, so much so that the lower temperatures and winds actually make it an Evergreen Forest (go figure).<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\" style=\"color: #3366ff;\">6. Go bird watching with Newton George.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>For the bird lovers out there, go deep into the <strong>Tobago Main Ridge Forest Reserve<\/strong>\u00a0with the legendary <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newtongeorge.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Newton George<\/a>, a premier birding guide in Tobago.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Newton-George-Bird-Watching-Tobago-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-30285\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Newton-George-Bird-Watching-Tobago-2-600x400.jpg\" alt=\"Newton George, Bird Watching, Tobago\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Newton-George-Bird-Watching-Tobago-4.jpg\"><br \/>\n<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Newton-George-Bird-Watching-Tobago.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-30288\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Newton-George-Bird-Watching-Tobago-600x400.jpg\" alt=\"Newton George, Bird Watching, Tobago\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Seriously everyone on the island knows about him, with over 32 years of experience he is literally the Bird Whisperer. While on our walk he could spot birds over 50, 70, 80 feet away!! Tiny, tucked away in the trees. Good thing I had binoculars so that he could point them out to me. Seriously, I am convinced tha<span class=\"text_exposed_show\">t he has superhuman eye sight.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"text_exposed_show\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-30286\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Newton-George-Bird-Watching-Tobago-3-400x600.jpg\" alt=\"Newton George, Bird Watching, Tobago\" width=\"400\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h4 class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\" style=\"color: #3366ff;\">7. Go Stand-Up Paddleboarding.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>To those who might be intimidated with water sports, I introduce to you standup paddle or SUP for short.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Stand-Up-Paddle-Tobago.jpg\"><br \/>\n<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Stand-up-Paddle-Pigeon-Point-Tobago-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-30292\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Stand-up-Paddle-Pigeon-Point-Tobago-2-600x450.jpg\" alt=\"Stand-up-Paddle, Pigeon Point | Tobago\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This fun water sport can be done by almost any age group and most fitness levels. But, don&#8217;t let its calm demeanour fool you, SUP can be a pretty intensive workout depending on how fast and long you paddle for.<\/p>\n<p>I took a couple different trips with\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.standuppaddletobago.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Stand Up Paddle Tobago<\/a>: From <strong>Pigeon Point<\/strong> down along the coast to <strong>Coco Reef<\/strong> and back.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-30293\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Stand-up-Paddle-Pigeon-Point-Tobago-3-600x600.jpg\" alt=\"Stand-up-Paddle, Pigeon Point | Tobago\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-30294\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Stand-up-Paddle-Pigeon-Point-Tobago--600x365.jpg\" alt=\"Stand-up-Paddle, Pigeon Point | Tobago\" width=\"600\" height=\"365\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Another trip was along the fishing village of <strong>Charlotteville<\/strong> where we paddled out into the ocean. First towards <strong>Pirates Bay<\/strong>, a lovely swimming area just to the right of town. From there we zig zagged through the many anchored sailboats and paddled over to the opposite side of \u00a0<strong>Man O War Bay<\/strong> to th<span class=\"text_exposed_show\">e small secluded private <strong>Lovers Beach: <\/strong>named for the romantic atmosphere, the lovely speckles of pink sand , and the numerous carvings of couple hearts on the rocks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-30291\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Stand-Up-Paddle-Tobago-600x501.jpg\" alt=\"Stand-Up-Paddle Tobago\" width=\"600\" height=\"501\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-30295\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Charlotteville-Tobago-2-600x375.jpg\" alt=\"Charlotteville, Tobago\" width=\"600\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"text_exposed_show\">\n<h4><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">8. Do a Stand-up-Paddle Bioluminescence \u00a0Tour.<\/span><\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<p>Bioluminescence is the production and emission of light by a living organism. On our\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.standuppaddletobago.com\/bioluminescence-tour.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Stand Up Paddle Bioluminescence\u00a0Tour<\/a> it was by minuet marine plankton called Dinoflagellates. So at night when you stir the water, they illuminate while agitated and give off a blue-green light.<\/p>\n<div class=\"text_exposed_show\">\n<p>Just imagine Avatar and glowing lakes, it\u2019s seriously a magic experience. You jump into the tucked away corners of a coastal lagoon and every movement you make leaves a glowing trail of blue-green sparks and hues. If magic truly does exist in this world like it does in the movies, this is it.<\/p>\n<p>Words truly cannot describe this experience, it is simply something you HAVE to try when you\u2019re in Tobago. Just make sure you plan according, since the Dinoflagellates are most brilliant the week before and following a new moon.<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">9. Go Windsurfing.<\/span><\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<p>Windsurfing is the perfect high adrenaline activity for those who love water sports. Here is me giving it a try as taught by Brett Kenny of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.radicalsportstobago.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Radical Sports Limited Tobago .<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Wind-Surfing-Pigeon-Point-Tobago-.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-30296\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Wind-Surfing-Pigeon-Point-Tobago--600x360.jpg\" alt=\"Wind-Surfing, Pigeon Point | Tobago\" width=\"600\" height=\"360\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\" style=\"color: #3366ff;\">10. Visit the Argyle Waterfall.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The most famous waterfall in Tobago; only a 15 minute walk\u00a0to the falls, and along the way you&#8217;ll see plenty of huge bamboo bushes like these! Go offshore\u00a0Sport Fishing.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Fishing is an interesting sport as so much of it is just waiting; w<span class=\"text_exposed_show\">aiting for something to bite. I guess you can say it&#8217;s quite a casual sport, until something bites, and then it&#8217;s adrenaline mode! Here we had multiple rods up, all attached to the boat, with large weights on the line to sink the baits. Visit the Nylon Pool.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">The Nylon Pool is a shallow white ground coral pool that is literally out in the middle of the ocean. Take a glass bottom boat to\u00a0Buccoo Reef.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p2\">For those less able to snorkel or scuba, glass bottom boats are a great option to see the reef. Buy bread from a tradition clay oven.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>One really unique part of <strong>Castara<\/strong> is that they have a working <strong>Clay Oven<\/strong>. On Thursdays and Saturdays you can go down and place your order for pumpkin bread, whole wheat bread, rolls, cakes or tarts, all to be baked in the oven.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Clay-Oven-Bread-Tobago.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-30317\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Clay-Oven-Bread-Tobago-600x335.jpg\" alt=\"Clay Oven Bread, Tobago\" width=\"600\" height=\"335\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once the orders are in they roll the dough and place them in banana leafs, this is so they don\u2019t dry out while baking.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-30318\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Clay-Oven-Tobago-2-600x600.jpg\" alt=\"Clay Oven, Tobago\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>They then fill the clay oven with bamboo leaves and burn them using the smoke to heat up the oven. Once hot enough, they\u00a0push out the cinders and place the wrapped\u00a0bread into the oven to bake for approx. 1 hour.<\/p>\n<div class=\"text_exposed_show\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-30319\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Clay-Oven-Tobago-600x384.jpg\" alt=\"Clay Oven, Tobago\" width=\"600\" height=\"384\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h4 class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\" style=\"color: #3366ff;\">17. Watch the seine nets being pulled in.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>I got to witness the pulling in of the seine (a large fishing net which hangs vertically from the surface of the water, and is held down by weights.)\u00a0Now this is something that happens in the fishing villages around Tobago, and happened the morning I left <a href=\"http:\/\/www.castararetreats.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Castara Retreats.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Seine-Nets-Castara-Tobago-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-30320\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Seine-Nets-Castara-Tobago-2-600x349.jpg\" alt=\"Seine Nets - Castara, Tobago\" width=\"600\" height=\"349\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heynadine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Seine-Nets-Castara-Tobago-3.jpg\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p>First off, the seine is huge and it basically covers a large portion of the bay. Also, it\u2019s all pulled in by hand. Plenty of people come down to help out and those that do get to have s<span class=\"text_exposed_show\">ome of the fish! And on this estate there are approx. 23,000 trees. Take part in the Heritage Festival activities.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/tobagoheritagefestival.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tobago Heritage Festival<\/a> \u00a0is an annual event created to preserve the unique cultural traditions of Tobago. Over the course of two weeks a variety of fun, cultural activities and shows takes place in all the various villages around Tobago.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">There is the\u00a0<strong>Moriah Ole Time Wedding, <\/strong>one of THE trade-mark events of the Tobago Heritage Festival. Designed to highlight the European influence on Tobagonians, the Moriah Ole Time Wedding is a reenactment of how an actual wedding used to be in Tobago back in the day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Now the ceremony starts off in the\u00a0<span class=\"s1\">old Moravian Church,\u00a0<\/span>which is literally just large enough to fit the wedding party itself. While there is plenty of rum punch and local beers being drunk during Sunday school, there is also many minors and non drinkers attending as well, just to lime, and listen to the music. Literally, they have created a word that is the epitome of what life should and is like here in the Caribbean.
