Stretching more than 3,000 miles, or 4,830 km, they reaching all the way down into the USA.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm7.static.flickr.com\/6088\/6122442539_b3def4a671_b.jpg\" alt=\"Rocky Mountains, Canada\" width=\"597\" height=\"397\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm7.static.flickr.com\/6084\/6122983654_1a336aa8bc_b.jpg\" alt=\"Banff Provincial Park\" width=\"598\" height=\"396\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Although the Rockies see hundreds of thousands of visitors each year they are almost all protected by national parks such as<strong> Mount Revelstoke<\/strong>,<strong> Jasper<\/strong>, <strong>Kootenay<\/strong>, <strong>Glacier,<\/strong> <strong>Waterton Lakes<\/strong>, <strong>Yoho<\/strong> and <strong>Banff<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>While passing through <strong>Yoho National Park<\/strong> visitor&#8217;s center, I was\u00a0 chosen as one of\u00a0 fortunate visitors to receive a time capsule package for their 125th anniversary time capsule. So one lucky person in 100 years time from now will receive a postcard from me!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm7.static.flickr.com\/6194\/6122985234_13000a5351_b.jpg\" alt=\"Rocky Mountains, Canada\" width=\"605\" height=\"402\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Banff National Park<\/h2>\n<p>Banff National Park is Canada&#8217;s oldest national park, establish in 1885, it is also Canada&#8217;s most popular tourist destination. If you have seen a photo of Canada chances are it came from Banff.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm7.static.flickr.com\/6067\/6122984156_08626d6f0b_b.jpg\" alt=\"Banff, Canada\" width=\"606\" height=\"404\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Lake Louise<\/h2>\n<p>Fed by ice-water runoff from the Victoria Glacier and engulfed by mountains, Lake Louise is a prime example of how pristine the Rockies truly are. Even though thousands of visitors flock here daily you still have a sense of isolation and a connection to the wilderness.<\/p>\n<p>The reason the water is this milky-blue colour is because of the fine sediments called &#8220;rock-flour&#8221;; powdery rock that has been crushed and ground by the glacier.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm7.static.flickr.com\/6080\/6122982838_654338c6dc_b.jpg\" alt=\"Lake Louise, Banff\" width=\"605\" height=\"403\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Banff, Canada<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm7.static.flickr.com\/6086\/6122441959_52c55de581.jpg\" alt=\"Banff, Canada\" width=\"601\" height=\"337\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Next we headed into town to take a look at the eats, shops and souvenir booths built to supply the needs of the many tourists flocking to this area.<\/p>\n<p>For accommodations there are numerous\u00a0 hostels, campsites, lodges and fancy alpine hotels to choose from, depending on what your budget it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm7.static.flickr.com\/6085\/6122983894_2808ccf1f0_b.jpg\" alt=\"Banff Springs Hotel\" width=\"599\" height=\"399\" \/><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Banff Springs Hotel:\u00a0 for those that wish to pay a premium $$$.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Now that we are through the Rockies, it is on towards the prairies and plains of Alberta!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">P.S.
