Rotorua + White Water Rafting!

Another early day, see the pattern? We got into Rotorua around 9:30am and hoped right onto our White Water Rafting Adventure! Via Kaitiaki Adventure. We  rafted down the Kaituna River, which was actually ridiculously warm, around 20 Celsius.

The reason we choose to go rafting here was because the Kaituna River contains the highest commercially rated waterfall in the world, a 7 meter tall waterfall!

Seriously, this rafting trip was totally worth the money. We had so much fun, me and all the girls from my bus made this trip hilarious AND no one fell out of the boat!   Plus our guide Chuck was hilarious, he was alot of fun.

After the rafting trip I had to part ways with all my amazing new friends and that was very depressing, it’s the one part that sucks about making new friends while traveling, you eventually have to say goodbye. Thank god for Facebook!

The rest of the day was a chorus day after I hoped off the bus to get ready for my Go East trip. I did manage to take a walk down to this geothermic park.

That’s that crazy thing about Rotorua, it’s full of geothermic activity, so there is geysers, smoke and  bubbling mud everywhere, and unfortunately that means sulfur dioxide in the air. So pretty much the whole town stinks like eggs, but apparently you get used to it after awhile.

When I was a kid, I got hit in the forehead by some of that mud (not very much). It hurt tho lol.
Don’t lean over to look at the geysers haha.

@Susan – LOL. I’m laughing for some reason, but getting splashed by a boiling mud bog probably isn’t something I should be laughing about. 🙂
