Vlog #12: Contiki European Panorama : Tyrol, Austria

Sometimes it’s nice to drop the mold society puts on us to act a certain way and just be. What I mean by this is, it’s fun to act like a kid even if you are almost 25. This is precisely what I did when I was in Austria.
On one of the day activities of bike riding we stopped off at a park which just so happened to have a wicked playground and luge track. So naturally the immature part of me took over and we spent the better part of the afternoon frolicking on the swings .
Originally I wanted to reenact the Sound of Music Do-Re-Me song since it was filmed here in the hills of Austria; however, nobody else seemed keen on participating with me.
Frolicking
Frolicking to the death! – but not really
White Water Rafting
Some of the more adrenaline seeking activities I also did in the Tyrol region of Austria was white water rafting down the Inn River with Feel Free.
Although the rapids were a bit more calm than other rafting trips I took in New Zealand, it was definitely one of the most scenic rafting I have ever done. And freezing by the way, since the river was glacier fed, hence the milky blue colour of the water.
Paragliding
Another activity I partook in was paragliding over the town of Hopfgarten. Paragliding although it seems like it might be scary, isn’t.
Although the weather wasn’t the best, I ended up with some pretty decent views over the town.
I would highly recommend paragliding to those who are a bit too frightened to skydive, but still want a bit of the same gliding sensation.
Overall I really enjoyed Austria, it has a ton of fantastic options for the outdoor adventure enthusiasts and not quite grown up adult.
Great pics! Hopfgarten appears a quite small town
I don´t want you to grow up! Ever! 🙂
It’s good to have fun. It’s especially cool to let out our inner child when we travel so that we can experience the fun in our activities. 🙂
