Paris, the city of love, or in my case-sore feet. Welcome to the start of my western European adventures and my 28 day Contiki European Panorama Tour.
Vlog #1: Contiki European Panorama : Paris, France

Paris is an interesting city, we had an entire free day to wonder around the city via foot and using the metro. In hindsight we should have used more metro and done less walking since, between 5 people we couldn’t seem to agree where or what an RER station is. – Looking at you Wes.
The Eiffel Tower
The Louvre
ZOMG AMAZING RACE MARKER!
Notre Dame Cathedral
We literally walked for 5 hours all around Paris. We started at the Notre Dame Cathedral, then walked 15 minutes in the wrong direction before doubling back and heading towards the Champs-Élysées , the main shopping boulevard. Here we stopped for lunch and snails. We figured escargot in Paris is probably going to be the best we can find; and they were very delicious, mainly tasting of garlic, pesto and butter.
After lunch it was over to the Arc de Triomphe and back to the Eiffel Tower to chill on the grass and hang on the lawn.
Best photo ever award?
As much as I complain about my feet and getting lost, walking does give you a good appreciation of how a city works. You end up wandering through areas you would have never though to explore and stumble upon the most unique parts of town.
Moulin Rouge
One of the items I was looking forward to the most in Paris was watching a show at the Moulin Rouge. It was literally one of the most exciting things I have ever seen. It’s a cabaret show, so for those that don’t know what that is- basically, it’s a singing/dancing show full of laughter, unique performances, tricks and lots of um..topless girls. Now what I really enjoyed about the Moulin Rouge was that it was done in a very tasteful manner. All the topless girls were presented in a non pornographic or overly sexual way. There was this most amazing act, which was two rollerbladers on a platform spinning each other around like in figure skating, but with way more crazy twist and ropes and did I mention they were on a platform? Crazy.
Anyways, after two days in Paris it’s time to move on to our next city! Au revoir!
Walking tours are great but I don’t think I would’ve tried the snails.
Nice photos! Paris is my favourite city. 🙂
Paris looks awsome like the pictures can’t wait for the next vlog
